What is a "University of Scouting"?
Universities of Scouting are offered by Scouting America Councils throughout the country and typically take place at a school or college. They are a continuing education opportunity for all Scout leaders and interested parents and youth. You sign up for a number of courses throughout the day. Courses are taught by volunteer instructors from the WNY Scouting community. Most last about an hour, but some take place over multiple sessions. There is also a midway where you can visit with representatives of various WNY Scout Council committees and learn how they can help support your Pack or Troop.
Attending a University of Scouting is also a requirement for the Scouting America training award for your position. Click here for more information about training awards.
Whether you are new to Scouting or a veteran of many years, this event provides a wide range of courses from which to choose and a fun opportunity to connect with others in the Scouting community across our Council.
