This is being held by Wildspirit (Delevan Scout) but the class will be held at the Erie County Forestry Area, Genesee Rd, Sardinia.

Learn the basic survival skills and build a survival shelter.

This is a full uniform event.  Scout must bring a blue merit badge card signed by your unit leader.  Bring a bag lunch.  Leader supervision is required for all events.  Absolutely no walk-ins.

Prerequisites:  Read the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge Pamphlet

Requirement #8:  Improvise a natural shelter.  Do not use a tent.  For the purpose of this demonstration, use techniques that have little negative impact on the environment.  Spend a night in your shelter.  We will learn how to make a natural shelter at the workshop but will not sleep in it.
