Got Camp Cards - Extended!

Camp Card Sale Extended!

We have heard from a number of you who have all asked that we extend the date of the Camp Card sale.   For many families the extended winter weather has not allowed them to participate in door to door sales, which is a vital part of unit fundraisers including Camp Cards.

We have heard you loud and clear and enthusiastically agree that if you need more time, please take it, as it’s our job to support you.  Units can still turn in payments early, but we will extend the “On Time” payments and reconciliation of unsold cards and payment until Friday, May 17th.  This means that you can earn the full 40% commissions on your Camp Card sales as long as you bring in the unsold cards and pay the total on or before Friday, May 17th at the Scout office.

Please spread the word that families have more time to participate in door to door sales and earn their way to camp!

Here is more information regarding Camp Cards:

If interested in selling Camp Cards, or need more, please contact either Greg Voyzey or Melissa Schreiber.

Spring Roundup:

With warm weather coming shortly, there cannot be a better time to start planning spring roundup.  We want to help every unit have a successful spring roundup.  We can provide the resources and tools you need to ensure this.  We will be sending around flyers to the schools to help promote each unit that is planning on doing spring and summertime activities.    Please also let us know if you need any flyers printed and made for other promotional opportunities such as church bulletins or sponsoring organization events.   Every youth deserves the opportunity to join Scouting; let’s let them know Scouting is in their neighborhood!

Birchbark Expeditions
Canoe Tripping Tips:

Traversing a Beaver Dam

While canoeing in the backcountry, you surely will end up face-to-face with a beaver dam.  Beaver dams can range from small stacks of sticks where the water passes right through, to massive two-foot high mud walls.  The trick is how do you get from one side of the dam to another without dumping the canoe?  Watch this video to see a demonstration on the recommended way to traverse a Beaver Dam.
