The Leave No Trace Trainer training program is a 16-hour course for ALL BSA-registered Leaders, Boy Scouts, and Venturers age 14 and older who are interested in learning how to apply Leave No Trace principles in an outdoor setting and teach the principles to others. Participants will be expected to develop and deliver a 15-minute presentation on one of the seven Leave No Trace principles during the course. This Leave No Trace Trainer training program is recommended for youth who will hold the Outdoor Ethics Guide position of responsibility in a Troop. Included in the program is a short hike and overnight camping experience where students will have the opportunity to put Leave No Trace principles into practice. Transportation to the outpost campsite is available if needed. Participants must attend both the evening classroom session and overnight practical session. Cost is $45 per person and includes all training materials and two meals (Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast.) Also included is an Outdoor Ethics Orientation, which is required for the BSA Outdoor Ethics awards.
