Klondike Derby weekend winter camping adventure. Build your own sled and race against skill and time to bring back the Klondike Prize! Events include ...

1.      Sled Race – The patrol will push/pull their sled over a set course. The entire patrol participates with one member riding. Must carry a gearbox. Score will be based on time.

2.      Atomic Snowball - scout hold a section of gutter and pass a golf ball down the gutter from one scout to the next, until they reach the finish line. Score will be based on time.

3.      Snow Ball Throw – Scouts and adults can participate. Throw a snowball at a target for accuracy. Score based on points for best throw.

4.      Lashings – Group event lashing a seat and carrying a scout 25 yards (timed event).

5.     Two-man Saw – Two patrol members cut through a log. Members can be switched during the event. Score will be based on time to make the cut. Fire Building – Entire patrol participates. Build a fire from the ground and burn through a string. Score will be based on total time.

6.      Kim’s Game – Entire patrol participates.Observe the items displayed, and then report the items. Score based on number of items reported accurately.

7.      Animal Tracks - Entire patrol participates. Observe the items displayed, and then report the items. Score based on number of items reported accurately.

8.      Snow Shoe Races – 6-man snowshoes – must use all 6 positions. Score will be based on time.

9.      Compass Course –Patrol must provide compass. Score will be based on accuracy and time. 

10. Snow Snake – Bring your stick to compete in this age old Native American game to see who can throw their stick the farthest down the snow alley. Snow permitting.

11. Mouse Capades – Using fishing poles to catch mouse traps (scored event).

12. Icelandic Volleyball – Have fun trying to play volleyball in the snow against another troop. Points will be awarded for participating.

13. Tug of War – Compete against other patrols in this age old game. Points will be awarded for participating.

14. Frisbee Jam - Entire patrol participates. Scouts take turns throwing and deflecting a Frisbee into a can to score points.

15. Knot Relay – Entire patrol participates tying 5 different knots. Score is based on accuracy and team work.

16. Log Pull – patrols must drag a log from designated spot for 25 yards. Scoring is based on time and teamwork. Entire patrol participates.

17. Fishing for Snapper – Using our fishing pole, see how many snappers you can catch. Some snappers are worth more points than others.
