Tifft Nature Preserve
Registration accepted until June 11, 2010 or until the participant number limit of 25 has been reached. You can register by clicking below or at the Council Service Center. Payment can either be made on-line with a credit card, in person at the Council Service Center, or by mail.
This is a full uniform event! Must bring signed blue merit badge card with scoutmaster’s signature. Bring a bag lunch. Snack and drink provided.
Leader supervision is necessary for each Merit Badge Day event.
ABSOLUTELY NO WALK-INS
Prerequisites:
Read the Fish and Wildlife Management Merit Badge Pamphlet.
- Do ONE of the following:
- Construct, erect, and check regularly at least two artificial nest boxes (wood duck, bluebird, squirrel, etc.) and keep written records for one nesting season.
- Construct, erect, and check regularly bird feeders and keep written records of the kinds of birds visiting the feeders in the winter.
- Design and implement a backyard wildlife habitat improvement project and report the results.
- Design and construct a wildlife blind near a game trail, water hole, salt lick, bird feeder, or birdbath and take good photographs or make sketches from the blind of any combination of 10 wild birds, mammals, reptiles, or amphibians.
