National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is the council level training program for youth. It is a seven-day outdoor experience for youth leaders in support of the Scoutmaster’s responsibility for training the Troop’s Youth Leaders. The course is set up to represent a month in the life of a typical Scout troop. It is conducted by the Training Committee using an outline approved by the Boy Scouts of America.
Who May Attend? Registered Boy Scouts, at least First Class rank, age 13 or older, who have their parents and Scoutmaster approval. And all Venture Scouts, male and female with Crew Leaders approval.
When is NYLT? Seven days in August 2010, August 7-14
Is the Home Scoutmaster Involved? YES! The conference is intended to strengthen the relationship between the Youth Leader and his Scoutmaster. A pre-conference session will be conducted for the Scoutmaster or an adult leader from the Troop and the Youth Leader on the application of the newly acquired skills to best serve the Troop program and develop his leadership potential.
If the Scout is registering on-line he must get his parents and Scoutmasters signature and turn that into the office.
