Polaris District Orienteering Day

Hosted by Troop 816 & Buffalo Orienteering Club

Challenge yourself on some navigation skills stations to learn the sport of orienteering. Later in the day put your skills to work by running a competitive orienteering course.

When: Saturday, October 15, 2022 9am-5pm

Where: Clyde L. Burmaster Park Bond Lake Recreation and Conservation Area (2571 Lower Mountain Rd, Ransomville, NY 14131)

Who: All Scouts BSA, Sea Scout and Venturing Youth with   Adequate Two-Deep Leadership

Cost: $10 per attendee, Lunch & Map will be included

~Schedule~

9am: Registration

9:30am - 12pm: Participants Complete Skills Stations Aligned to Requirements 1-6 of the Orienteering Merit Badge

12pm - 1pm: Lunch Provided

1pm - 4pm: Participants Complete Orienteering Course (MB Requirement 7 (Partial), First Class Requirement 4a)

4pm - 5pm: Advancement Reports/ Blue Card Reconciliation. Possible Park Service Project

5pm: Award Presentation
