2019 Leave No Trace Trainer Course

Leave No Trace Trainer is a 16-hour course for ALL BSA-registered Leaders, Boy Scouts, and Venturers age 14 and older who are interested in learning how to apply LNT principles in an outdoor setting and teach the skills to others. Participants will be expected to develop and conduct a 15-minute presentation on one of the seven LNT principles during the course. This LNT Trainer course is recommended for youth who will hold the newly-created Outdoor Ethics Guide position of responsibility in a Troop. Beginning in January of 2016, The Outdoor Ethics Guide has replaced the Leave No Trace Trainer position. A short hike and overnight camping experience is included. Transportation to the outpost camping site is available if needed.

Cost is $45 per person and includes training materials, and three meals (Saturday lunch & dinner and Sunday breakfast). Also included is an Outdoor Ethics Orientation course, which is required for the new BSA Outdoor Ethics awards. The training is conducted by Leave No Trace Master Educators and Trainers.
