This is a full uniform event! Scouts must bring a blue merit badge card signed by his Scoutmaster. Bring a bag lunch. Please do not print up the merit badge booklet from the internet as it will not be used during class.
Leader supervision is necessary for each Merit Badge Day event.
Prerequisites:
You must read the Environmental Science Merit Badge pamphlet
Requirement #3b-2: Record the trips taken, mileage, and fuel consumpiuton of a family car for seven days and calculate how many miles per gallon the car gets. Determine whether any trips could have been combined ("chained") rather than taken out and back. Using the idea of trip chaining, determine how many miles and gallons of gas could have been saved in those seven days.
Requirement #5: Imagine a gas station being constructed in your neighborhood and identify the items that would need to be included in an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the project planned. Write a one page EIS.
