Leave No Trace Master Educator Course
Dates: This is a 2-part course:
Part 1: Friday, May 15th, 2015 starting at 7:00 pm through Sunday, May 17th, 2015, ending around 12:30 pm at Camp Scouthaven in the Niagara Frontier Region of NYS
Part 2: Friday, May 22, 2015, starting at 1:00 pm and will involve backpacking along the Finger Lakes Trail (Bristol Hills Branch) and within Camp Cutler in the Finger Lakes Region of NYS through Monday, May 25, 2015, ending around 1:00 pm
Course Fee: $280.00 (all fees paid to Greater Niagara Frontier Council)
Registration Deadline: Friday, May 1, 2015, but please contact us as soon as possible if you are considering attending.
Note: You must complete a BSA Medical and bring the signed form with you to the first weekend of the course.
This course is designed for people who are actively teaching outdoor skills or providing recreation information to the public. Master Educators can train others in Leave No Trace skills as well as facilitate Leave No Trace Trainer courses and awareness workshops.
Who may participate? Any registered Scouter 18 years of age or older with an interest and passion for Outdoor Ethics. All participants should be familiar with Basic Hiking and Camping Skills.
Note: As an option, we will offer an introduction to BSA’s Tread Lightly! outdoor ethics program to all registered participants.
