Railroad Museum of the Niagara Frontier

The Niagara Frontier Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society has teamed up with the GNFC to bring you a Railroading Merit Badge seminar.  Come and earn your Railroading Merit Badge! 

This is a full uniform event.  Adults supervision is required.  No flip-flops or sandals.  Scouts must bring a blue merit badge card signed by your Scoutmaster.

Prerequisites:

There are many options for you to pick so you will have to make choices and do some work in advance.

Everyone should read a copy of the Railroading Merit Badge Book

Go to http://meritbadge.org  Click on ‘merit badge’ then ‘Railroading’ and print out the worksheet for Railroadinghttp://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Railroading  Fill it out!

We are doing the Railfanning options for requirement 8 (b1 and b3).  Please be sure to do the web research on 4 rail historical groups shown in requirement 8. (b3). These should include the Niagara Frontier Chapter of the NRHS http://www.nfcnrhs.com and the Fort Erie Historical Railway Association. www.friendsof6218.ca   Representatives from both of these groups will be there to talk to you to complete the requirement.  Bring in your research.

Be prepared to photograph or sketch items of interest per requirement 8 (b1).

If you are using the Model Railroading options for requirement 8 (a 1-7) you should bring in evidence that you have completed these requirements. 

Be sure that you have completed all the terms of the options that you have selected.
