Darwin Martin House

Scouts are invited to come to the Martin House to learn about architecture as exhibited by the most famous American architect; Frank Lloyd Wright.  Participants will take a tour of the Martin Complex through the eyes of an architect. We will look at the drawings of the buildings and interior design and talk about how to translate 2D renderings into 3D structures.  Scouts will discuss sustainable architecture, how Frank Lloyd Wright used green building before it was widespread and will explore how the Martin House’s restoration continued Wright’s “green” architecture plan. With an architect, scouts will learn about different architectural career paths and how this exciting and important career path has changed in the last 100 years.

Email Sue Gruber at susan.gruber@scouting.org for the list of requirements.  By completing these and attending class you will satisfy all requirements for the merit badge.

Scouts must bring a blue merit badge card signed by your unit leader.  Leader supervision is required.
