Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum
Come to the Carrousel Museum to enjoy a special morning of activities for Cub Scouts! See woodcarving demonstrations, learn how historic band organ music is produced, and take part in a number of hands-on activities throughout the museum. Activities are designed for elementary-aged children. Scouts will earn an art belt loop and pin by taking part in this program.
There will be four main activity stations: soap carving (accompanies woodcarving demo); making "pan pipes" (accompanies band organ demo); decorating a carrousel horse to represent you (accompanies immigration story); and learning to sketch a basic horse. These stations will all be facilitated by museum staff and volunteers. There will also be a couple other simple crafts in our children's gallery that participants can do on their own, as well as puzzles, games, and other carrousel-related activities. The program will also include a ride on our historic carrousel (additional rides are $.50) and of course participants are welcome to view the museum's exhibits. Though the program will officially last two hours, participants are welcome to stay as long as they like (the museum closes at 4pm), and bring a bag lunch if you wish.
Cost is $10.00 per scout. Siblings and other guests pay regular museum admission at the door of $6 adults, $5 seniors, $3 children 2-16. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org
