This is a full uniform event. Pizza and drink will be furnished by the counselors at no charge. All scouts must bring a blue merit badge card signed by your unit leader. Bring a notebook and pen.
Leader supervison is required.
Prerequisites:
Through both work completed prior to attending the class, and the hands-on instruction provided the day of the class, interested Scouts will gain insight into the past, present and future of railroading and will successfully earn the Railroading Merit Badge.
IMPORTANT! Pre-Work Required Before Attending Class
Before attending the Railroading Merit Badge class, read the merit badge pamphlet (BSA Supply No. 35939). Workbook Section 8 requirements MUST be completed prior to attending the class! Scouts will complete the Sections 1-7 of the workbook the day of the class. All requirements must be completed in order to be issued a blue card and be awarded the badge. No "partial completions" will be awarded the Railroading Merit badge.
What You Will Need
Workbook Section 8 - Instructors will require each scout to successfully demonstrate his work for this section the day of the class. Be prepared to provide information to the class about what you did to complete this requirement (bring your finished railroad model, train layout diagram, trip photos/information, etc.).
